PATAGONIA SAFARI PROGRAMS

ECOCAMP Comfortable as your home, wild as Patagonia! The EcoCamp, located in the National Park Torres del Paine in Patagonia, combines exposure to nature with the comfort of a three star hotel. It is the first hospitality company in Chile to receive the prestigious ISO14001 Environmental Management System certification. We offer programs in two kind of accommodation: standard domes for trekking programs and suite domes for Wildlife Safari programs.

Suite Domes
Suite Domes are comfortable 28mt²/ 300 ft² tented igloo-type double domes built the same way as the ancient native Kaweskar’s dwellings. Its structure produces minimal environmental impact while providing an efficient thermal and wind resistant unit, with great exposure to nature in the most magnificent Patagonian setting. Each dome has a private bathroom, comfortable double or twin beds, and it is heated by a modern low-emission wood stove. In addition, every dome has its own composting device to process waste and a solar panel as an energy source.
PATAGONIA SAFARI PROGRAMS (With accommodation in the Suite domes)Suite Domes were created to share the EcoCamp’s experience with the less active traveler who doesn’t necessarily want to hike and requires more comfort. We offer 2, 3, 4 and 5 nights’ full-board programs including excursions based on a weekly excursions chart. Every day, the passenger will be able to choose between an active or a soft excursion. Programs can start and finish any day of the week.

Standard Domes
These domes in Torres del Paine have vitrified wooden floors and are 2m high with a diameter of 4m, allowing plenty of space for sleeping comfortably. They are resistant to the strongest Patagonian winds, rains, and snow and come equipped with two single beds, fleece sheets, blankets, and feather quilts. There are round windows in the ceiling to observe the stars of Patagonia before falling asleep. Regarding bathrooms: We offer comfortable and well illuminated shared toilettes, divided for male and female. Both have showers with hot water, w.c., hand wash, special furniture and warm details that will make you feel at home. Each shower is located inside a closed space where the person can dry himself up and put on clothes with privacy.

TREKKING PROGRAMMS (with Accomodation in the Standard domes):
The trails in between the famous Torres del Paine craggy mountains are among the world's classic trekking routes. Breathtaking views together with glaciers, rivers, lakes, forests and abundant wildlife provide constantly changing scenarios to nourish your nature-hungry soul. During summer (Nov-Mar) there are 18 hours of daylight to illuminate your daily adventure. With Andean condors circling overhead and guanacos grazing in the valleys, this amazing trek offers a genuine wilderness experience. You can do the famous “W” (7 days), the short “W” (5 days) or the Circuit (9 days), all will be a great experience.

2 nights /3 days Programs from 826.00 per person.

SOLARES DE PORTUGAL

Solares de Portugal is a unique concept that was introduced to promote quality tourist accommodation in
manor houses of character and, at the same time, preserve the rich legacy of Portugal’s architectural and
cultural heritage. The Solares represent centuries of Portuguese history and culture. The majority of the
grandiose 17th and 18th century houses are of noble origin and still in the ownership of the descendants of
the founding family
Solares de Portugal ranges from stately manor houses and elegant country houses, to farm houses and
rustic cottages, each with its own individual character. They are family homes as opposed to hotels,
offering a very different kind of holiday experience with that’s personal touch.
They have since been individually inspected to ensure the highest standards of quality and hospitality. The
guests will find a variety of leisure opportunities at their disposal, such as fishing, hunting, golf, swimming,
rambling, tennis, horseback riding, cycling and wine tasting.

LUXURY TRAVEL LATIN AMERICA

While many European and Caribbean destinations are seeing tourism fall off a cliff, Latin America still seems to be holding up well, with some destinations still seeing year-to-year increases. I just saw this first-hand on my two-week trip to Peru. The local Casa Andina chain is on a tear opening up new hotels, but unlike in much of the rest of the world, they are actually filling them up each week. The new La Casona de Inkaterra boutique hotel in Cusco is a masterpiece and is already booked out for part of high season.

I also talked with several tour operators there that are seeing record bookings for 2009, not just in Peru, but in Argentina and Chile as well, despite the down economy all over.

Luxury travelers are apparently finding that trading down doesn't have to be unpleasant if they pick the right destination.

Heading to Latin America is just naturally a better value. Great service and facilities for far less than the old standbys.
